In the ruins of a Amphitheater at the edge of any city the small orphan girl Momo lives. She has many friends, because she has the gift to be able to listen unusually well.

The idyllic life of the small place stops, as strange,cigar smoking " grey Misters " try to persuade the inhabitants to deposit their lifetime at " a time savings bank " . Eyeryones starts to "save" his time - and they bring themselves that way around their luck and their friendships.

Momo tries in vain to explain to her friends that they will cheat at their time. She goes despaired guided by the turtle Kassiopeia to master Hora, who is manager of allhuman time. Hora tells her about the secret of the hour flowers and the time...

  

When Momo returns to her Amphitheater, one year passed. Everything changed: A hectic large city waits for her, in which no one has time for the other one. Momo is abandoned and lonely. For this instant " the grey gentlemen " waited. They know that Momo could become dangerous for them and try to extort her: If she wants to make her friends free from the terrible Spuk, she must lead the time thieves to master Hora, because they want to bring themselves into the possession of all human time.

Besieged of " the grey ' gentlemen " master Hora stops the time of the world: One hour remains Momo and her turtle, in order to find and " destroy " the time memory of the grey gentlemen, because without the stolen time they cannot exist.

Only with an hour flower in her hand Momo starts her mission...
